Linda - Store Administration

Hi, I have worked for Totem for almost ten years. I worked at another place for thirteen years but I felt I was burnt out and wanted a change. I applied at Totem because I had family that already worked for them and she was happy working there.

I like the people I work with always something going on. It is a fast paced store, and you can never say it's a boring job. Totem is a place if you think you are getting burnt out with your job they will put you in another position. It's like starting another job, but not actually leaving the store. Management will always listen to you and help you out to find what you want to do within the company. I don't know anyone that can't say that Totem doesn’t work to help you do something different if you feel you want a change.

I am a little older- one time a customer said to me doesn't it bother you that you are working with so many "younger" people? I looked at her and said it’s not about age here we all get along and we are friends that work together. I have seen a lot of people come and go but also some returning to work here. The ones that go and don't feel sad are the ones that are not people persons.

At my age I know I can get a job at a lot of places but why would I, I enjoy working here. Don't get me wrong we do work but only because it can't be all fun and games. Everyone has to work.... unless you have won the lottery or retired, so why not work at a place you enjoy?!
