Totem has been "Building with Alberta" since 1970 and we’re proud to be able to help build better communities and assist our friends and neighbours. Our support is typically steered toward organizations that are oriented toward the development and support of youth and family, health and wellness, sport and fitness or cultural and social causes.

Beyond our corporate sponsorships, generated from the Support Centre in Calgary, each of the Totem Stores support local initiatives, in their own communities, which serves to benefit as many Albertans as possible.

	Hair Massacure Totem is proud to support the Hair Massacure and is dedicated to assist and help the chosen charities and kids battling life-threatening illnesses. Until February 3, 2012 you can join us and show your support for these worthy causes by making a donation at any Totem store throughout Alberta. It starts with a Toonie ... Just tell the Totem staff at Customer Service how much you would like to donate and it will be added to your invoice. We thank you for your generous support. Hair Massacure charities include Ronald McDonald House, Make-A-Wish Foundation and The Stollery Children’s Hospital.
	Growing With Our Athletes Growing with our Athletes ensures one hundred promising athletes will receive financial support for up to five years to help them pursue their dreams. Selected by objective standards by the Canadian Olympic Committee and various national sports federations, the athletes will be aligned with a group of RONA or affiliated stores from different areas across Canada, allowing them to share their experiences through organized events in these communities.
	Trico Centre The Trico Centre is a neighbourhood active-living recreational facility, offering a vast range of programs and services to meet the needs of many Calgary and area residents. Totem is proud to contribute to the "Building for Their Future" Campaign with a $100,000 donation towards the development of the Totem Fitness Centre.
	Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta is passionately dedicated to helping young people and their families affected by cancer survive and thrive in body, mind and spirit. The Annual Trico Homes Ride for a Lifetime, in support of the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta (KCCFA), was conceived by a group of community-minded motorcycle enthusiasts. This three-day, 1539 km motorcycle adventure will take riders along some of the most scenic highways in Western Canada.
	Edmonton's Capital EX It's fun to be a kid at Capital EX. Especially when you arrive in Family Fun Town and explore the many features including, The Construction Zone presented by Totem Building Supplies. An interactive kid-sized world of building that gives children the tools to imagine a real life construction job. Help use color our newest feature - a giant mural!
	The Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre The Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre in Cochrane is a state-of-the-art facility that houses the Totem Arena. This 85' X 200' arena, with a spectator capacity of 1,200, plays host to local hockey, ringette, figure skating, inline hockey, trade shows, and special events.
	ManCap Foundation Totem was proud to make a donation to this worthy cause at our 2011 grand opening of the new Totem store in Edmonton Ellerslie. ManCap provides grants in the name of Alberta entrepreneurs to high school students entering a post-secondary institution, in preparation for starting a business.
	Alberta Junior Hockey Totem has been a long-standing supporter of many hockey teams in both the WHL and AJHL leagues. The bright orange Totem logo can be seen on the rinkboards at many of the home town arenas and store staff benefit from season tickets to attend local games.
	STARS Air Ambulance Totem assists Stars through the sponsorship of a portion of their annual golf tournament and usually has a team entered to participate and enjoy in this fun summertime event.
	GlobalFest Multi-Cultural Festival Totem has been a long-time supporter of this unique, world-class event and has even sponsored our very own night at the International Fireworks Festival. The shows are a dramatic display of explosive light put to music and are always a huge crowd favorite.
	Habitat For Humanity Totem supports habitat for Humanity in many of the communities where we have stores. Products are supplied for the renovation and construction of some of the homes built by this worthy organization for the benefit of under-privileged families. And, you’ll often find Totem Staff on the Habitat project site to pitch in a helping hand and get the job done.
	Stick-It to Prostate Cancer On Saturday, September 24, 2011, we had members from the Airdrie and Calgary stores and the Calgary Administration office volunteer to set up the 4 x 4 rink boards and position the cinder blocks to help build all seven hockey rinks for the Stick-It to Prostate Cancer Ball Hockey Tournament at Cross Irons Mills in Balzac, Alberta, north of Calgary. On Sunday, September 25, 2011, two Totem teams participated in the Stick-It to Prostate Cancer Ball Hockey Tournament. The first team "The Totem Edge" raised $5,148 from 112 individual sponsors. The second team "The Totem Real Deal" raised $769 from 33 individual sponsors. Both teams would like to thank all the wonderful people who sponsored the cause. The weather was 29 celsius and awfully warm for jersey-wearing, but both teams had a "ball" nonetheless.
	Mother’s Day Run & Walk Totem is a proud supporter of the Mother’s Day Run which provides proceeds for medical needs in both Calgary and Edmonton. A growing number of employees participate each year and help to raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause.
