u of t training program
As part of our commitment to new and existing staff, two University locations have been dedicated to full-time training. Program durations can vary from one day to one week and cover excellent hands-on examples and practical guidelines in all aspects of customer service and home renovation.
All stores are required to send at least one attendee per course offered at the north and south regional U of T Training Centres. In addition to the Orientation, Product Knowledge, and Mentor courses, at least 10 custom programs have been developed to enhance service and personal growth. There are also self-taught courses and a number of online modules that employees are encouraged to review at the store. A tracking and evaluation process is in place to help keep every employee at the top of their game!

term of service rewards
Putting in your hours can make you eligible to receive bonus funds twice a year as a full-time or part-time employee...just for doing your job! Employees must work a minimum amount of hours during each term to qualify. This program was established in 2007 and bonus values may be subject to change. Consult management for details.

AGP Recognition program
Customers, employees, and management staff can all reward a job well done using the Acknowledge-Guide-Provide Program. This nomination-based points system allows staff to cash in points for merchandise. Points accumulations over a career will earn service level pins and may qualify you for a seat at the annual gala in Montreal.
The aim of the AGP Program is to improve customer satisfaction and build loyalty. By training our team members, appraising their behaviours, and recognizing and rewarding demonstrated skills, everyone wins! Staff have online access to the Points Program, including current totals and a gift catalogue.

A current employee who refers someone to the manager for an interview may be eligible to receive $150 as a referral bonus once that new member is hired and successfully completes their probationary period. It's a great way for us to build a strong team, meet excellent service people, and spread the word about the benefits of working at Totem. |
